KUALA LUMPUR (May 22): Eco World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) unveiled 19 tenants at its retail and community hub Majestic Labs at its Eco Majestic township in Semenyih, Selangor.

The unveiling ceremony took place at Menara EcoWorld in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.

The 19 tenants are Believe Fitness, Claviera Petite, Melody Kindyland, Chef Kecik, Flow Academy, Fui Chuai Chinese Restaurant, Hock Kee Kopitiam, Xiaomi, Nando’s, V Ride Plus, Jungle Gym, Fiezta Arena, Taning, Niki Japanese Dining, Canton Boy, Giomepickle, myBurgerLab, OPEN PLAY HOUSE and EcoWorld Gallery @ Eco Majestic.

Majestic Labs is slated for a soft launch in late September this year and a grand opening by year-end. With a net lettable area (NLA) of about 110,000 sq ft, it comprises 47 retail units across four levels. Currently, occupancy rate stands at 70%.

The Majestic Labs is part of EcoWorld’s Labs series that was launched in 2017. EcoWorld has invested RM65 millon in developing the 3.6-acre Majestic Labs, which is part of the 20-acre Eco Majestic City Park.

In his opening speech, EcoWorld deputy chief executive officer Liew Tian Xiong said the series has evolved since its launch.

“We introduce Majestic Labs because we want it to be the focal point for the entire township. When we started our Labs series journey in 2017, we started with Ardence Labs in Eco Ardence township in Shah Alam. It was a new concept for us at the time. The whole idea is to create a community destination before the houses are delivered. The whole point of that, for EcoWorld, is to make sure people understand our commitment towards building a community. Since then, [the Labs series] has evolved for us — in the way we look at commercial development and on how we want to create a community.”

He added that Majestic Labs has a bigger NLA, compared to the Ardence Labs at 65,000 sq ft.

“We evolved not only from size but also from a design concept point of view. It is community driven, in touch with the entire township designed as a central destination point and also connected to nature.”

In terms of sustainability commitment, Majestic Labs features a solar photovoltaic system on its rooftop which has the capacity to generate 410,870 kilowatt hours, incorporating green materials such as Starken AAC blocks and vent blocks to support passive cooling and reduce energy use.

Launched in 2014, the 1,089-acre Eco Majestic has an estimated gross development value of RM11 billion. To date, a total of 5,911 residential units and 331 commercial units have been launched. It is accessible via the township’s East Gate via Jalan Semenyih, the North Gate via the Red Carpet Bridge and the West Gate via Exit 2102A of the Kajang-Seremban Expressway (Lekas).
